Letter to Union Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises

Dear Shri. Anant Gangaram Geete ji,

I would like to seek your kind intervention for an early closure to the pending issues of the employees in Palakkad unit of Instrumentation Limited including the recovery of productivity linked bonus, festival allowance, disbursement the 1997 pay revision arrears and implementing the 2007 pay revision.

The Government of Kerala has agreed to purchase of the assets of Palakkad unit of Instrumentation Limited and the process is in the final stage. The determination of the assets and liabilities and the net asset value has been almost settled during the meeting on 22.11.2017. It was also agreed that all issues relating to payment of wages and other dues between the workers and the Instrumentation Limited would be settled between them subject to the outcome of the court cases. The Government of Kerala would not be liable for any payment to workers on account of dues before the date of purchase of assets.

As you would appreciate, the Palakkad unit of Instrumentation Limited has been profit making for a long period and it was the Kota Unit that was incurring huge losses. I understand that Government of India has provided significant amount of funds for settling the liabilities at Kota unit.

I would therefore request your kind intervention to bring an early closure to the pending issues relating to the employees and to settle all issues relating to the payment of wages and other dues outstanding between the employees and the Instrumentation Limited, at the earliest, subject to the outcome of the cases pending before the Hon’ble Courts. This would enable the State to purchase the assets of Instrumentation Limited Palakkad, as a going concern.

With regards,

Yours sincerely,

PINARAYI VIJAYAN
