Letter to Prime Minister (Rehabilitation of Endosulfan victims)

Dear Shri. Narendra Modiji,

I write this to draw your kind attention to my earlier letter of 14th February 2017 regarding Central Assistance for providing relief and rehabilitation for Endosulfan victims of Kasaragod District.

Various studies by institutions of repute in the country have indicated that indiscriminate and unscientific spraying of Endosulfan in Kasaragod District over two decades has resulted in the increased incidence of congenital disorders, mental retardation and multiple disabilities involving a total of nearly 5848 cases. Dear Shri. Piyush Goyal Ji,

I would like to bring to your kind attention that I had received a representation from women from Kerala working in Mayiladuthurai section of Tiruchirapalli Division as Track Maintainers alleging that they are being subjected to severe harassment by their immediate supervisor.

I understand that the 17 women have jointly submitted representation to all concerned including Railway Board Chairman and to your office. Their request is to transfer him out of the section as they find it impossible or not feasible to continue to take orders from him. (more…)

Dear Smt. Sushma Swaraj Ji,

As you are aware the ruler of Sharjah H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi had visited Kerala between 24th and 26th of September 2017. Both Ministry of External Affairs and State Government have been receiving large number of representations from Indian citizens who have been sentenced to Jail in civil offences, especially in Middle East countries which have stringent legal frameworks. In this context, I had requested His Highness to consider their release as a humanitarian gesture. This request was immediately agreed to and 149 Indian prisoners were ordered to be released. Letter to the Prime Minister (Crisis Developing in some Northern States)

Dear Shri. Narendra Modiji,

It is worrying that widespread instances of violence, rioting and arson are being reported in several north Indian states, following the verdict convicting Gurmeet Ram Rahim by a CBI special court in Panchkula. Reports indicate that the death count and the number of injured are increasing by the hour.

I have personally been receiving calls from Malayalees who are in fear of their life and property, from the affected areas. May I request you to take immediate and necessary action to ensure that the life and property of all our citizens are protected without fail. Strict action against those behind these unprecedented acts of violence may also be ensured. (more…)

Letter to the Prime Minister (Blue Whale issue)

Dear Shri. Narendra Modiji,

It has been reported that there is an internet trend growing in popularity that encourages its participants to hurt themselves in real life – called Blue Whale. This is not a video game but the participants are required to receive instructions from an anonymous administrator, and their final task is to commit suicide. The target is basically young children. (Reports in the media reveal that the game has taken a few lives in India and its popularity is growing) The Blue Whale Game is a challenge to the whole society and comprehensive action against this from all responsible agencies are of utmost importance. Letter to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (Parambikulam-Aliyar project)

Dear Sri. Edappadi K. Palaniswami,

I would like to bring to your kind attention the serious concerns that we have on continuing violations of the conditions of the Parambikulam Aliyar Project (PAP) Agreement.

As you will appreciate, the PAP Agreement guarantees Kerala of a specified quantum of water at both the Manacadavu Weir and at Kerala Sholayar. Kerala’s entitlement in a water year is secured irrespective of whether the water year is normal or distressed. It is quite unfortunate that Tamil Nadu has consistently not released the required quantum of water not only as per the fortnightly schedule incorporated in the Agreement but also as per the decisions of the Joint Water Regulation Board (JWRB). Letter to the Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs (SBT issue)

Dear Shri. Arun Jaitley Ji,

I would like to bring to your kind attention that the concerns of State of Kerala, the employees of the State Bank of Travancore and the customers of the bank, raised before the merger of SBT with SBI seem to be vindicated by the post merged developments.

Now aggrieved by certain measures taken by SBI that has affected adversely the trade union rights, service conditions and the customers, the Travancore State Bank Employees Association has started sathyagraha on 19th July and the agitation is continuing. The main grievance is that without notice the management has de recognised the union and that despite the directions of the Division Bench of the Hon’ble High Court, the bank is yet to implement the cheque off facility.
