The new ministry headed by Shri. Oommen Chandy as Chief Minister takes off with the following persons as ministers. Shri. P. K. Abdu Rabb, Shri. Adoor Prakash, Shri. A. P. Anilkumar, Shri. Aryadan Mohammed, Shri. K. Babu, Shri. C. N. Balakrishnan, Shri. V. K. Ebrahim Kunju, Shri. K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Shri. T. M. Jacob, Kumari P. K. Jayalekshmi, Shri. K. C. Joseph, Shri. P. J. Joseph, Shri. P. K. Kunhalikutty, Shri. K. M. Mani, Shri. K. P. Mohanan, Dr. M. K. Muneer, Shri. Shibu Baby John, Shri. V .S. Sivakumar and Shri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. They were sworn in by His Excellency R.S.Gavai, Governor of Kerala at a function organised for the purpose at Kerala Raj Bhavan Thiruvananthapuram at 4pm on 23rd May 2011. Shri.T. M. Jacob, Minister- Food and Civil Supplies, passed away on 30th October 2011. Shri.Manjalamkuzhi Ali and Shri. Anoop Jacob were sworn in as ministers on 12th April 2012. Governor H.H.Shri. H.R. Bhardwaj administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers-designate. Shri. K. B. Ganesh Kumar resigned from the Council of Ministers on April 1, 2013. |

Shri. Oommen Chandy - Chief Minister
Son of Puthupally Karottu Vallakkalil Shri.K.O.Chandy and Smt.Oruvattithra Baby, Shri Oommen Chandy was born at Kumarakam on 31st October 1943. He entered politics through Kerala Students Union. A law graduate, Shri.Oommen Chandy served as State Presidents of KSU and Youth Congress. Elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly from Puthupally Constituency for the first time in 1970, became Labour Minister in the 1977 Karunakaran Ministry. Served in 1981 and 1991 ministries of Shri.K.Karunakaran holding Home and Finance portfolios respectively. Became the Chief Minister of Kerala in 2004, after the resignation of Shri.A.K.Antony. He was the Opposition Leader of the 12th Kerala Assembly. He is elected from Puthupally Constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly representing Indian National Congress.He is becoming the Chief Minister of Kerala for the second time. |

Shri. P.K.Kunhalikutty Entered politics through the Muslim Students Federation and he later became its State Treasurer. He subsequently served as Chairman, Malappuram Municipality and also as Secretary of Kerala State Muslim League.Shri.Kunhalikutty has been elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly six times; in 1982 and 1987, contesting from Malappuram constituency, in 1991, 1996, 2001, from Kuttippuram constituency and in 2011 from Vengara constituency of Malappuram. He is the State General Secretary of Indian Union Muslim League. He served as Minister for Industries and Social Welfare from 1991 to 1995 in the Karunakaran Ministry, Minister for Industries and Municipalities from 1995 to 1996, and Minister for Industries, IT and Social Welfare from 2001 to 2004, in the A.K.Antony Ministry and Minister for Industries, IT & Social Welfare, from 2004 to 2005 in the Oommen Chandy Ministry. Shri. K.M.Mani Son of Shri.Thomas Mani and Smt.Alyamma, Shri.K.M.Mani was born at Marangattupalli on 30th January 1933.Participated in the Freedom Struggle while a student and entered politics as a worker of Indian national congress. He was a member of KPCC and General Secretary of Kottayam DCC. He is the founder member of the Kerala Congress. Now serves as the Chairman of Kerala Congress (M).Served a minister for Finance (1975-77); Home affairs (Apr-Dec 1977 & Sep 1978- Oct 1979); Finace and Law (Jan 1980-Oct 1981, Dec 1981-Mar 1982, May 1982-May 1986); Irrigation and Law (May 1986-Mar 1987); Revenue and Law (Jun 1991-May 1996, May 2001-May 2006).

Shri. K.P.Mohanan Shri.K.P.Mohanan, son of former Minister Shri.P.R.Kurup, is elected from Koothuparambu Assembly Constituency in the 2011 Assembly Elections representing Janata Dal Secular (JDS). He was previously elected from Peringalam Assembly Constituency in 2001 and 2006. Today, he is the Chairman of the Socialist Janata State Parliamentary Board and Member of its State Committee. Shri. Anoop Jacob
Anoop Jacob is the son of former minister T M Jacob. He was elected to the Assembly following a by-election at Piravom constituency in March 2012 which was necessiated due to the demise of minister T.M Jacob, his father and incumbent of the consituency. Shri. Aryadan Mohammed
Son of Shri.Unneen and Smt.Kadiyamunni, Shri.Aryadan Mohammed was born at Nilambur on 15th May, 1935. Entered politics as Congress member since 1952. He is president of Malappuram DCC and various trade unions.He was minister for Labour and Forest in the E.K.Nayanar Ministry (1980-82), was minister for labour and tourism in the A.K.Antony ministry and Minister for Power in the Oommen Chandy Ministry (2004-06).He served as the president of the Malappuram DCC. He had held the posts of General Secretary of KPCC.He is elected from Nilambur Constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly representing Indian National Congress. Shri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan
He was elected to Kerala legislative assembly in 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 representing Adoor constituency. He was minister for Water Resources during 2004-06 period. He is now elected from Kottayam Constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly representing Indian National Congress.He is becoming Minister for the second time. Wife : Smt. Shri. Adoor Prakash Entered politics through Students Movement and he became president of KSU(I) Kollam Taluk Committee in 1978. He was president of Youth Congress (I) Pathanamthitta Dist. and General Secretary of Youth Congress (I) State Committee. Also he was Joint Secretary of KPCC and Vice President of Pathanamthitta DCC(I). He served as a member of Library Advisory Committee and the Committee on Environment, Kerala Legislative Assembly. He has been elected to Legislative assembly for the third consecutive time from Konni constituency as a Congress candidate. K.C.Joseph Entering politics through KSU, he served as president of Kerala Pradesh Youth Congress, Member of Kerala University Syndicate and Convenor of standing committee of Syndicate on Finance.Also served as Member of AICC, secretary of Congress Legislative Party etc. Currently, he is the president of the Kottayam DCC. He was the secretary of the Congress Legislative party in previous assembly. He is elected from Irikkur Constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly representing Indian National Congress.He is becoming Minister for the first time.

Shri. A.P.Anilkumar Entered politics through KSU and was its Unit President(1979), Taluk President (1982) and Malappuram District Secretary(1984). Kumari P. K. Jayalekshmi Kumari. P.K.Jayalakshmi is the only woman candidate who won the Indian National Congress (I) ticket and the youngest Minister in the Cabinet. She was elected to the Assembly from Mananthavady for the first time. She is becoming Minister for the first time. |

Shri. P.J.Joseph Son of Shri.P.O.Joseph and Smt.Annamma Joseph, Shri.P.J.Joseph, was born at Parapuzha on 10 June 1942. Joined Kerala Congress in 1968. He was Minister for Home Affairs in A.K.Antony Ministry; Minister for Revenue and Education and Minister for Revenue and Housing in K.Karunakaran Ministry; Minister for Education, Works, Housing and Registration in the E.K.Nayanar Ministry from; and Minister for works in The V.S.Achuthanandan Ministry.He was a member of Kerala University Syndicate and Founder Chairman of Gandhiji Study Centre.
