Mass Contact Programme at Thiruvananthapuram inaugurated

Thiruvananthapuram 10-11-2011: The Government should reach out to the people and should work from among them, said CM while inaugurating the Mass Contact Programme here at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium.

The elected representatives and officials of various departments would help in getting the grievances of the people resolved. The programme started at 9 am. CM said that this programme would last until the last petitioner is disposed of. There is a huge turnout for this function.

The registration process began at 8.30am. The District Collector said that over 10,000 petitions were received. CM considered the petitions of physically challenged people at first.

Complaints received on the spot was scrutinized by the team with the CM. Around 68 counters were opened by various departments at the venue to handle the complaints and to distribute financial aid to people. Around 1000 officials have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the programme.

Minister V S Sivakumar, Deputy Speaker N Sakthan, Sasi Tharoor MP, MLAs V Sivankutty, K Muraleedharan, Mayor K Chandrika were also present.
