Malappuram 24-11-2011 : Government desired to provide BPL ration cards to all deserving people in the State and steps would be taken for this immediately after the conduct of Mass Contact Programme in all the districts, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said. Inaugurating the Mass Contact Programme of the Malappuram district at the Malappuram  MSP ground the CM said that it would not be possible to reject requests for assistance by suffering people merely on technical grounds. The basic aim of the Mass Contact Programme was to avoid the distance between the Government and the people. Mass Contact Programme brings people’s representatives, officials and the people together and it would speed up the growth and development of the State. The experiences from the programme would be helpful to bring positive changes in the system.  Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty presided over the inaugural function. Minister Aryadan Muhammed and A P Anil Kumar spoke. MLAs, P Ubaidullah, K NA Khader, C Mammootty, K T Jaleel, P Sreerama Krishnan, M P Abdul Samad Samadani, Manjalamkuzhy Ali, M Ummer and P K Basheer were present.
