Mass Contact Programme helped to bridge the gap between people and governance: CM
Palakkad 08-12-2011: The Mass Contact Programme has definitely gone a long way in improving the relation between officials and people, said CM. The efforts taken by officials to redress the complaints of people have helped to bridge the gap that existed between people and governance.
CM was speaking at the inaugural function of Mass Contact Programme at Palakkad Victoria College Ground here.
The victory of Mass Contact Programme is a due to the collective effort of all without political barriers, said CM. All the problems and needs of the people should be addressed. The relevance of Mass Contact Programme lies in the fact that there is not even a single petition that goes unheard.
CM said that the different kinds of petitions received during the programme may pave way for several administrative reforms. There is no point in blaming officials as they are unable to act as per the existing laws, added CM.
A monitoring process of Mass Contact Programme will also be eveloved. CM reiterated the stand of the state- Safety for Kerala and Water for Tamil Nadu- in the Mullaperiyar issue.
Minister A P Anilkumar presided over the function. District Collector K v Mohankumar , elected representatives and officials were also present.
