CM said that though he was taken back legally, cases against Thachankary would continue.
CM also announced that the management of approved unaided schools run by majority communities will be given the right to fix their fee structure. As of now it is only applicable to the unaided schools run by minority communities. At present the fees of schools run by majority community is fixed by the government. Since this decision is not justifiable, the government has decided to review the decision.
The cabinet has approved the report submitted by Minister for Health Shri Adoor Prakash and Minister for Welfare of Backward Communities Smt P.K Jayalakshmi who visited the places in Wayanad reeling under the attack of cholera. Government would construct toilets for the houses in three colonies. Apart from this, model toilet block projects would be implemented in 50 Aadivasi colonies as well, said CM. The fund would be allotted from the total sanitation scheme.
The period of enquiry commissions of Malappuram hooch tragedy and Cheriyathura Riots will be extended to 6 more months. Alexander K Luke will be appointed as K.S.R.T.C Managing Director.
Government would give a compensation of Rs 1lakh each to the dependent of the victims of Riyad fire tragedy. This aid is in addition to the Rs 50,000 declared by Norka.
