Thiruvananthapuram 13-07-2011 8.30 PM : Stern action will be taken against those involved in violence at University College, said CM. All those who are associated with violence should disassociate immediately. He was speaking at the Cabinet briefing today.
The pension of Khadi, Hindi has been increased to Rs 2000 from Rs 1000. Assistance will be given to the families of those persons residing in the aadivasi colony in Wayand who died of Sickle Cell Anemia. Six families will be given an assistance of Rs 1 lack each.
Government will provide nutritious food, free ration and medical treatment to the persons in this colony.
Two family courts will be set up in Irinjalakkuda and Muvattupuzha.
The toll collection in Aroor- Edapally road will resume on 15th. Government will bear the toll of the persons residing in Kumbalam Panchayath.
It has come to the notice of the government that University College has become haven for goondas and that weapons are stored there. Their activities are disrupting the normal life of the people in the capital. Lapses from the college authorities will also be examined.
Media reports that Karakonam Medical College is collecting undue fees have come to the notice of government. Government will not tolerate any lapses from anyone. Absolute transparency will be provided in this regard.
CM also said that the Finance Minister has prepared a very creative budget and the government appreciates that. Alterations will be made after the discussions.
Previous UDF government had passed a law that 5% land of Plantation Corporation will be converted to tourism purposes. But the LDF government failed to get consent for the law from the Central Government. The same law will now stand.
Regarding enquiry against V.A ArunKumar, opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan said that he is willing for an enquiry by the Legislative Committee. Government has yielded to it, said CM.
