Thiruvananthapuram 20-07-2011: The government has recommended the name of Dr. K.S Radhakrishnan, former Vice Chancellor of Kaladi University as the new PSC Chairman, said CM. He was speaking at the cabinet briefing. The decision was taken since the tenure of the present Chairman will expire after a month.
Those athletes who won gold, silver and bronze medals at Special school Olympics will be given Rs 3 lakh, 2 lakh and 1 lakh respectively. Their coaches will be given Rs 25,000 each and the 8 institutions that trained them will be given Rs 50,000 each.
Tintu Luka, who has won several medals for the country will be given 10 cents of land in Kannur and Rs 10 lakh for construction of a new house, said CM.
The cabinet has also decided to give Rs 1.5 crore as grant to the seven municipalities formed by LDF government.
