Government inks pact with Self Financing Managements

Thiruvananthapuram 21-07-2011: The government has signed an agreement on fee structure and seat sharing with the Kerala Self Financing Engineering College Managements.

According to the agreement 50% seats will be set aside for the government merit quota in 75 engineering colleges. The agreement was signed at a meeting presided over by the CM.

Cm said that the government would soon sign an agreement with the 10 colleges under Catholic Management. As per the agreement the annual fee for half of the merit quota seats would be Rs 35,000. From the students who get admission in the rest 25% merit seats the management can charge special fee of Rs 25,000.

The managements have agreed to en-mark five percent seats for educating meritorious students free of cost. The total number of free seats under fee waiver scheme would be three. Of the three seats one will be for a girl student, one for a student from economically backward family and one for physically challenged student.  As per this agreement, a total of 2250 students will get admission in the merit quota in engineering colleges.
