Thiruvananthapuram 26-07-2011: Oommen Chandy sought clarification from the Doctors Association as to why they decided to go ahead with the strike. It was most unfortunate that they decided to strike in spite of the consensus that was reached in Sundays meeting with them at Cochin, said CM.
It is a strike not against the government but against the people. They should furnish the reason for their strike. Government is always ready for discussion, CM said.
Oommen Chandy also criticized the opposition for being anti democratic regarding the voting in Assembly. CM said that they need to make clear whose vote was faked in the assembly and if proved he would take up the responsibility.
Government has also decided to withdraw the Commission that probes the police firing at Kasargode. The writ petition that was filed will also be withdrawn. The victim Muhammad Shafeeq will be given a solatium of Rs 5 lakhs.
Special instruction has been given to the PWD Minster to take immediate action to repair the roads damaged during this monsoon as this has invited wide complaints.
The Government has also decided to sanction the posts of 239 junior grade teachers and 23 higher grade teachers in the government higher secondary schools sanctioned by the last Government.
Anti piracy cell would be set up in the state, with one SP, one DYSP and two Sub Inspector posts will be created for this and for heading the security of Sree Padmanabha Swami Temple the post of Superintendent of Police will also be created, said CM.
