Thiruvananthapuram 02-08-2011: A Special Action Plan needs to be formulated by the Fire and Rescue Service to tackle the emergency situations in the state, said CM. He was speaking at the high level meeting of Fire and Rescue Department convened by him.
The tragedy at Vengara should not happen again. Plan needs to be formulated so that such tragedies can be averted in the future, said CM.
CM also said that immediate steps would be taken to fill the vacancies in the department.
The new equipments procured by the Fire and Rescue Department should be used in such a way that the entire state is benefited.
The procedures to buy Skylift should be intensified, curbing the time lag, instructed CM
CM said that all the fire stations needs to be equipped with wood cutting machines and directed to intensify the working of the Fire Force Academy.
Finance Minister K M Mani, Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar, Fire and Rescue
Service Commandant Gen Premsankar took part in the meeting.
