Thiruvananthapuram 11-08-2011: The riches in the vaults of the temple cannot be seen as a treasure and the religious sentiments of the followers will be taken into account while dealing with the opening of the vaults, said CM. He was responding to the ‘devaprasnam’ which indicated that the vaults should not be opened.
The State Government would tell this opinion to Supreme Court, if asked, said Cm and added that the ‘devaprasnam’ will be treated with at most importance.
CM came to the temple to review the security arrangements. He reiterated that the wealth of the temple would rest with the temple itself. It is the onus of the Government to give adequate protection to it.
The immediate security arrangements will be in place within two weeks and the long term arrangements by November, CM said.
