Thiruvananthapuram 16-08-2011: Out of the 110 projects under the 100 days programme of Government 30 have been completed till now, said CM. 54 of them are nearing completion and only 26 of them need progress. He was briefing the media after the cabinet meeting.
Cabinet has given the green signal for Chengera Rehabilitation Package. Basic facilities will be provided for the families already rehabilitatied. 25 cents of land will be given to 1000 adivasis who were evicted. Revenue Minister has been entrusted to identify the land. Financial aid will also be provided for construction of houses, said CM.
All the PSC lists that are to expire before March 31, 2012 will be extended till March 31 2012. Government has also decided to speed up the procedure of postings of handicapped persons in government jobs reserved for them.
Strict action would be taken to check the unprecedented rise in the price of life saving drugs. The exploitation by medical companies will not be allowed. A meeting with them will be held on September 4. The life saving drugs and other medicines used widely by people will be brought under Government control and distributed at a lower price.
Rs 63 crores have been sanctioned for the repair works of Sabarimala roads heavily damaged in this monsoon season. Trissur-Palakkad NH needs urgent repair works and the Governemnt will approach NH authorities to look into the matter urgently.
The compensation to farmers who have lost their crops due to flood will be increased .One time settlemement of SC/St loans will be extended to one more year.
The file tracking system IDEAS will be implemented in all departments. It will also be made popular as this would enable the people to track their petitions easily.
Expressing concern over increase in crimes against women and children, CM said that a special committee will be formed with Sugathakumari teacher as the Chairman. They will draft a policy and will implement the programme.
Lokayuktha will be strengthened with necessary amendments. Right to Services act will be implemented after discussion with the service organizations.
