Thiruvananthapuram 17-08-2011: Whether the agricultural loans are distributed through NABARD or any other cooperative institutions, steps would be initiated to provide loans to farmers faster and at a low interest rate, said CM. He was speaking at the agricultural award distribution function at Kanankunnu Place here.
Steps would be taken to promote the use of bio fertilizers in the state widely, said CM. The compensation to farmers for crop destruction due to natural calamities will be increased. CM also said that instruction has been given to Ministers K P Mohanan, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and K.M Mani to present a study report regarding the same. After studying the report necessary steps will be taken. Minister K P Mohanan presided over the function.
Speaker G Karthikeyan, Ministers K M Mani, V.S Sivakumar, Mayor K Chandrika, K Muraleedharan MLA, Panchayath President Ramani P Nair were also present.
