“Sruthi Tharangam” on September12
Thiruvananthapuram 21-08-2011: The Cochlear implantation project that aims to make Kerala a state where no children have the disability to hear or speak has been named ‘Sruthi Thrangam’ by CM.
This project will be inaugurated on Sepetember 12, the day when this Governemnt completes its 100th day in office. 200 children will undergo cochlear implantation surgery in the state this year, said CM.
Government will provide Rs 5 lakhs each to the children undergoing surgery. All the Medical Colleges and District Hospitals will be equipped with Audio testing devices.
CM also said that if children above 3 years of age are sure to overcome the hearing imparity with this operation then government is sure to consider these cases also.
