Rehabilitation package for Chengara Agitators
Thiruvananthapuram 24-08-2011: Chengara land agitation is in resolving stage. The meeting convened by Chief Minister decided to provide 25 cents of land to 1000 chengara agitators. The government will also find an alternative solution to rehabilitate 1405 families who have been allotted the land which is uninhabitable.
The Leader of the Chengara Agitation, Shri. Laha Gopalan told that the agitation had been withdrawn.
District Collectors of the respective districts have been entrusted to find out the beneficiaries and to identify the alternative lands. Revenue Minister Shri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan also participated in the meeting.
