Traffic & Security Surveillance System launched
Thiruvananthapuram 26-08-2011: Chief Minister said here that the Government would provide all facilities to the Police and Motor Vehicle Department to enforce the traffic rules effectively in the state. He was inaugurating the Traffic & Security Surveillance system introduced by the Police Department at the Cantonment Police Station in Thiruvananthapuram. The new system aims at recording the vehicular traffic at important points in all towns and cities in the state with the help of digital cameras and other devices. This would help Police and Motor Vehicle Authorities to monitor the traffic round the clock. In the first phase the system has been introduced in Thiruvananthapurm, Kochi and Kozhikkode cities. At present 38 speed domes and 83 cameras have been installed in Thiruvananthapuram city
Transport Minister V.S Siva Kumar presided over the inaugural function. Mayor K.Chandrika, D.G.P Jacob Punnoose, Transport Commissioner T.P Sen Kumar, KELTRON Managing Director K.P Prasanna Kumar and Corporation Councilor Harikumar were present.
