157.69 Crores sanctioned for repair of roads

Thiruvananthapuram 14-09-2011: The Cabinet has decided to sanction Rs. 83.54 crores to Kozhikode, Thrissur and Kollam Corporations to undertake the repair works of roads.  Rs. 74.42 crores had been sanctioned to Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi corporations earlier the same purpose thereby making the total amount sanctioned as Rs157.69 crores, said CM. He was briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting.

The secretaries of Local self Government institutions that failed to disburse Agricultural Labourer’s pension before Onam has been asked to furnish explanation. CM said that the fund for this purpose was given to the District Labour Officers on August 31 itself.

A 3 member committee consisting of Dr Ushakumari, HOD (Anesthesia), Dr Mohandas, HOD Surgery and Dr Anilkumar, Professor Neuro surgeon of Trivandrum MCH has been constituted to conduct a detailed enquiry into the death of Sethu, a native of Orissa at Kottyam Medical College Hospital following a road accident. Decision has been taken based on the report submitted by Director Medical Education..

The committee will also give detailed report regarding the improvement of facilities in the causality wing of MCHs.
