Thiruvananthapuram 20-09-2011: The lost land of the the adivasis in Atapadi will be recovered and given back to them with title deeds, said CM. He was briefing the media after the cabinet meeting.
In the survey conducted by the Government it was found that 85.21 acres of land has been encroached. The Government has also decided to take up the two windmills working in the encroached land. This land will be given back to the adivasis.
The KSEB will be given the authority of the windmills and the Government plans to distribute the profit from these windmills to the adivasis who own the land. But final decision regarding this will be taken only after consultation with adivasis, informed CM.

The cases of grabbing of lands of adivasis and the vigilance enquiry against officials allegedly involved in this will continue and if found guilty action will be initiated against them.
The land needed for construction of small scale power projects will be taken up under fast track policy. CM said that the 95 families settled near the Periyaarkutty power project region will be given title deeds.
60 acres of land will be given for setting up a Maritime University in Kochi. The district Collector has been entrusted to identify the land for this, said CM.
G Sadasivan will be the Deputy Director Prosecution, Vigilance, said CM. Regarding the allegation that the creation of this new post is interference in the Pamolein case. CM said that the case will be handled by the special prosecutor appointed by ht previous Government. The Government wants of maintain transparency in all matters related to the case, he added.
