Varkala 21-09-2011: The teachings and message of Sree Narayana Guru on tolerance and emancipation of mankind are not meant for any single community, but relevant to all communities and hence universal, said CM.

He said this while inaugurating the meeting organised by the Sivagiri Dharma Sangham in connection with the 84th samadhi day of the Guru. He said that Guru was instrumental in realising a social revolution in the state sans caste, creed and religion. The life and teachings of the great spiritual leader hold great value for the present as well as future generations, he said.

Sivagiri Dharma Sangham president Swami Prakasananda delivered the benedictory address. Ports and Excise Minister K Babu presided over the meeting.

P T Thomas MP, said that an earnest attempt should be made to bring out a comprehensive biography of Guru. “Though there are many biographies of the Guru, one which presents the totality of the personality is yet to come,’’ he said. He also called for the establishment of an International Sree Narayana Guru Study Centre.

A  Sampath MP and Varkala Kahar MLA, also spoke at the function. Special poojas and recital of Guru’s works were also held at the samadhi.
