Thiruvananthapuram 3-10-2011: The 800 crore New Road Development Works project submitted by PWD has got cabinet approval. This is in addition to the funds earlier allotted to PWD, said CM while briefing the cabinet decisions here.
The Pay Commission recommendation regarding the salary and other allowance of High Court workers has also got cabinet clearance.
The Cabinet also cleared the Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property in Hosptials Bill 2011.
The monthly pension to Jawans who participated in Second World War has been hiked to Rs 1000 from Rs 600. The widows of these Jawans will be given a pension of Rs 500 per month. Defense personnel Rajesh R Nair who suffered disability while in duty will be inducted into Government service as LD Clerk.
The families of those who drowned in Bharathapuzha, Ithikara river and the kin of those who died in the 108 ambulance mishap will be given Rs 2 lakhs each as compensation.
CM also added that the treatment expense of the girl who lost her leg in a vehicle accident will be met by the Government.
