Thiruvananthapuram 03-10-2011: The Karamana- Vazhimukku road will be widened to 30.2 meters, said CM. This is the first phase of the road development from Karamana to Kaliyikkavila.
Private lands will not be acquired for constructing bus bays. Feasibility study would be conducted for developing 4 lane tracks from Kochuloor to Pallipuram. These decisions were taken in a meeting of action council members and people’s representatives convened by CM.
CM assured that land will be acquired only after implementing the rehabilitation package which would be based on the provisions of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act which is under the consideration of the cabinet. Market value will be given to the land acquired. A committee will be formed under the PWD Minister to find immediate solution to problems that arise.
The complaints about the alignment of the four lane highway will be discussed. A video copy of the revised alignment would be provided to the people’s representatives.
