Garbage disposal- Permanent mechanism in one year: CM

Thiruvananthapuram 04-10-2011: A permanent mechanism will be evolved for effective disposal of garbage in Kollam, said CM. He was speaking at a meeting convened to discuss the problems in Kureepuzha area where the waste treatment plant is presently functioning.

Government is trying to bring in a decentralized process in the disposal of wastes. Treatment plants for garbage including plastic wastes will be installed within a year.

CM said that a meeting in this regard will be held tomorrow (5-10-2011) to discuss the problems in Kollam under the leadership of Minister Shibu Baby John. Experts from Suchitwa Mission will also attend in the meeting.

Ministers PK Kunhalikutty, Shibu Baby John, MLAs A. Azeez, PK Gurudasan, Kollam Mayor Prasanna Earnest were also present.
