Cheruthuruthi 08-10-2011: All steps have been taken to get the final UGC recognition for the Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University this year itself, said CM. In order to convert this university to a Center of Excellence, developmental projects worth 12 crores have been handed over to the Centre for approval. All the steps to get the 12 B status are nearing completion, said CM. He was inaugurating the ‘Pranaman’, a programme to felicitate the Padma Awardees at Kalamandalm and the stone laying function of the 10 Kalari.
Minister KC Joseph presided over the function. MLA K Radhakrishnan was the special guest. Padma Award winners Mudavoor Vasudevan Nair, Kalamandalam Kshemavathi and Peruvanom Kuttan Maaar were felicitated by CM and also lauded their contributions.
PK Naraynan Nambyar, PC Chacko MP, Kalamandalam Vice-chancellor PN Suresh, Registrar K K Sunderesan were present.
