Thiruvananthapuram 13-10-2011: The Government will seriously consider giving training to people on how to carry out rescue operations during accidents and other emergency situations, said CM. Proper training is needed to carry out rescue works during times of disaster. He was inaugurating the International Disaster Management Observance Day here.
Presently Army and Navy are called in to carry out rescue works during emergency situations now.
CM said that advanced technology, modern devices and expert training should be utilized in rescue operations. Citing the unprecedented rise in the number of flats, CM said that special care and precaution needs to be taken to avoid disaster in this sector.
Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishanan presided over the function. Two books were released by Deputy Speaker N Shakthan and Mayor K Chandrika during the occasion.
Minister V S Sivakumar, Revenue Additional Chief Secretary Niveditha P Haran, Thiruvananthapuram District Collector P M Francis also participated.
