Thiruvananthapuram 17-10-2011: CM today said that the two members, TV Rajesh and James Mathew, were suspended from the House for flouting the consensus reached on the unfortunate events in the Assembly last Friday and for abusing the Speaker in the assembly.
Speaking at a media briefing, CM said, today’s events in the Assembly were the continuation of the unruly developments of last Friday. All the party leaders and Speaker tried to resolve the issue. Discussions were carried out when the Assembly began its proceedings today. Nobody justified the events that happened inside Assembly on Friday.
At the end of the discussions, it was finally decided that the two MLAs express regret to the Speaker.
When the Assembly met at 1.30pm, the Speaker ruled as per the consensus reached. But inspite of the consensus made the two MLAs shouted at the chair, flouting the consensus. It was under these circumstances that the two MLAs were suspended from the Assembly, said CM
The UDF demanded telecast of the entire proceedings of the House. Let the people watch what is going on inside the Assembly, said CM.
Out of the 13 days’ session of Assembly 10 days’ session were disrupted by the Opposition by entering into the well of the house.
Minister P. K Kunhalikutty said that the two members actually denigrated their own leaders. Minister K. M Mani said that the suspended MLAs have no right to enter the house. The action of MLAs was damaging the sanctity of the House. Ministers K P Mohanan and K B Ganesh Kumar were also present.
