Valakom case: Govt. approves proposal for CBI inquiry
Thiruvanathapuram 02-11-2011 :The State Cabinet today approved the proposal for CBI inquiry in to the Valakom case in which a teacher of the RVVHS, Valakom, got seriously injured. After the cabinet meeting the Chief Minister told media persons that the Government had received letters from the Leader of Oppositions V S Achthanandan, MLAs Mullakkara Ratnakaran and Ayesha Potti in this regard.
The technical bids submitted by M/s Welspun and MundraPort have been found fit for the operation of the VizhinjamPort. Their financial bid will be opened after the clearance from the Central Government, the CM said.
Regarding the Thiruvananthapuram mono rail project the Government has decided to seek an extended feasibility study from from Technocity (Mangalapuram) to Neyyatinkara instead of the one submitted by the NATPAC from Kazhakkoottam to Balaramapuram. The feasibility study of the Kozhikode mono rail project is over and follow up action will be taken.
The cabinet has also approved the resettlement and rehabilitation package for land acquisition containing more liberal provisions for the evictees.
The Chief Minister said revised tender will be invited for 311 road works under the PMGSY project as per the revised schedule-2011. The works of these roads have been hit as there is no takers for the works under the pre-revised rate.
