Wayanad: Government to freeze revenue recovery on farm loans

Thiruvananthapuram 09-11-2011: Revenue recovery activities at Wayanad on all agricultural loans will be frozen till December 31, said CM. He was briefing the cabinet decisions here.

A three member committee under Additional Chief Secretary K Jayakumar will visit Wayanad to review the Wayanad Package implemented and will also look into the problems in the farming sector. CM has instructed to submit the study report within a week. One Scientist from Agricultural University and one Professor from Veterinary University are the other members of this committee.

Bridges having a construction cost of less than Rs 5 crore will not have toll, said CM. The Government will bring amendment to the Toll Act 1976 in this regard.

 
The time limit to file the election expenditure details of elected representatives of Panchayaths and Local Self Governing Institutions has been risen to 15 months from 3 months.

A regulatory authority will be constituted to look into the complaints regarding water supply and irrigation projects. A bill will be brought in this regard.

Two cents of land will be given near Chandrasekharan Nair to place the statue of K Karunakaran.

Hill Development Agency will be brought in place of Hill Development Authority, said CM and added that a Coastal Area Development Agency will also be constituted.

Smt. Bharathi who was injured severely in the tile factory accident at Ambaloor in Thrissur will be given a solatium of Rs 5 lakhs. Solatium of Rs 2 lakhs will be given each to the family of Anoop, a taxi driver in Thrissur who was abducted and killed and family of Sivadasan , the overseer of electricity board, Malappuram who died in an accident while on duty.

A law will be implemented to oversee the problems related to lift and escalators.
