Thiruvananthapuram 16-11-2011: Skill development should be given importance in the 12th Five Year Plan, said CM. He was presiding over a meeting with media persons regarding the approach paper of the 12th plan. Job training should be given and a situation should prevail where those who have received training should get jobs, said CM. Agriculture, basic infrastructure development and industries are the areas which should be given thrust. Even though there have been achievements in the field of medicine and education the second generation will confront problems, CM added.
Minister K.C Joseph said that views should come up from different sectors regarding the 12th plan. Discussions should be carried out through media. Minster has requested the media to give space for developmental projects. Criticisms will be accepted in the right spirit by the Government, said Minster. Meanwhile the media should give importance to those matters that need to become a matter of discussion in public.
Media too pointed out the maters that required immediate attention and also discussed various topics that need to be addressed.
State Planning Board Vice Chairman K. M Chandrasekhar said that the new points that came up during the discussion would be considered.
