Thiruvananthapuram 17-11-2011: Children should include the act of environmental protection in their lifestyle, said CM. He was inaugurating the Children’s Environmental Congress organised by State Bio-diversity Board here.
Children can contribute enormously in protecting the environment, especially at this time when climate change is posing a great threat.
CM said that the act of supporting the formation of environmental protection committees in 978 panchayaths in the state, clearly shows the commitment of Government towards environmental protection. CM added that Kerala is the first state to form such committees in all panchayaths.
Garbage is posing a great threat and if a permanent solution is not sought then all the achievements of the state will go unnoticed.
CM published the documentary “Mangroves of Kerala by presenting the CD to a child who participated in the congress.
