Thiruvananthapuram 18-11-2011: Government has not flouted any law in appointing Tomin Thachankary as MD of Market Fed, said CM. He was speaking at the meet the press organized by Trivandrum Press Club.

It was after consultation with NIA that Tomin Thachankary was appointed as MD of Market Fed, said CM and added that a Government can function only according to rules.

CM termed the allegation that as part of Government’s One Year Plan the service sector falling in the hands of private parties as baseless. Government owns 26% share of the four companies formed on the model of CIAL, said CM and added that the rest of the share can be attained by local self governing institutions and public institutions. These companies are formed on an experimental basis.

The Government aims for the overall development of the state. The programmes unveiled in the One Year Programme are quite evident in this regard.

CM said that Government will not allow any kind of encroachments and added that if any complaint arises, strict action will be initiated.

It is the onus of the officials to give information on enquiries on RTI Act failing of which will invite stern action. Mechanism to know the status of petitions given to any department will be brought in, said CM.
