Faults in construction of roads to be rectified: CM

Thiruvananthapuram 18-11-2011: More funds would be given to rectify the fault in construction of roads in the state. Due to the fault in construction of roads, accidents are frequently happening in some areas. CM said this while inaugurating the state level road awareness programme here.

Enough fund has been set apart to give training to reduce road accidents and for awareness campaigns.

The combined effort of traffic police, PWD and Vehicle department is necessary to reduce road accidents in the state, said CM.

Motor Vehicle Department together with Kerala Road Safety Authority is preparing an action plan regarding road safety. Wide awareness campaigns and scientific training programmes are included in the first year’s programme. CM also published the booklets on road safety.

Minister V S Sivakumar, Mayor K Chandrika, DGP Jacob Punnoose, Transport Commissioner T P Senkumar were also present.
