Mullaperiyar :apprehensions conveyed : CM
Thiruvananthapuram 23-11-2011: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that the State had conveyed Kerala’s apprehensions on the Mullaperiyar issue to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Kerala was not against giving water to Tamil Nadu but we could not ignore the safety aspect, the CM said. `Water to Tamil Nadu and safety to Kerala’ is the stand of Kerala in Mullaperiyar issue. The CM pointed out that all political parties in the State shared the same view in the matter and the Government would take all steps to safeguard the interests of the State.
