Rules be made more people-friendly: CM

251111aWayanad 25-11-2011 :Those rules and regulations which create hurdles for the smooth functioning of the officials and the people’s representatives would be abandoned, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy while inaugurating the Mass contact programme at Kalpetta today. The experience from the Mass Contact Programme shows that certain laws and rules forbid the officials from taking crucial decision with regard to providing assistance to the people and the Government would take a decision on such rules after a detailed examination of the same.

The main purpose of the programme was to minimize the distance between the people and the administration, the CM said. M V Sreyams Kumar MLA presided over the function. Minister P K Jayalakshmi distributed the financial assistance. M I Shanawaz M P, I C Balakrishnan MLA and District Panchayat President K L
