Wayanad 25-11-2011: The 80-crore project for the rehabilitation of the settlers in the Wayanad wild life Sanctuary area would be implemented soon, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy after visiting the Noolpuzha, Kuttnakara settlement colony in Wayanad today. Though the project is under the consideration of the Centre the State Government does not want to wait till the approval comes.  Earlier the CM visited the settlement area and listened to the grievances of the people. The CM gave a financial assistance of  Rs 3 lakh to the kin of Vasu,  a forest watcher who was killed by a wild elephant. ST Development Minister P K Jayalakshmi, I C Bala Krishnan  MLA and District Panchayat President K L Poulose were also with the CM during the visit.
