Kollam 29-11-2011 : CM said that the district collectors will be given more powers with regard to the conversion of APL ration cards to BPL category. Inaugurating the Mass Contact Programme at the Fatima Mata College Ground the CM said that he had received so many complaints in this regard and the district collectors will be authorized to take steps in this matter on the basis of the guide lines issued by the State Government. Once the Mass Contact programme is completed by mid-December, a mechanism under the minister, in charge of the district concerned and the district collector will be in place to take follow-up action in the remaining complaints received in the programme, the CM informed. The proper coordination between people’s representatives and officials helped the success of the Mass Contact Programme. He said that he himself would examine those complaints  that remain unsolved
