Nitta Gelatine should follow all pollution control norms: CM

Thiruvananthapuram 07-12-2011: CM has given strict instruction to Nitta Gelatine Company that was closed last month for flouting all pollution control norms to follow the same. CM said that permission will be granted for functioning of the company as and when they start implementing the pollution control methods.

A monitoring committee has been formed to oversee the pollution control methods implemented by the company.  Apart from the 13 instructions given to the company to mitigate pollution a bio filtering unit must also be installed. The company management has informed that it has given shape to a project worth Rs 5.50 crores to control pollution and will be implemented at the earliest.

Minister  P K Kunhalikutty, MLAs B D Devasi and V D Satheesan also part of the meeting.
