Social audit will be carried out for Mass Contact Programmes: CM

Kottayam 20-12-2011: Follow up action will be initiated for Mass Contact Programmes and for this social audit will be carried out to ensure that genuine grievances of people are redresses, said CM. He was speaking while inaugurating the Mass Contact Programme here. Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishanan presided over the function.

This is the 11th Mass Contact Programme of CM. The earlier 10 had reaped huge success. CM said that this success was because of the sense of togetherness shown by all, said CM.

Though all the grievances of people cannot be redresses maximum effort will be taken to resolve the problems of people, said CM. He also congratulated the officials for rendering all their support and help.

CM said that the Mullaperiyar issue will be resolved and reiterated the stand of Kerala- Water for Tamil Nadu and Safety for Kerala. The issue will be resolved maintaining the cordial relationship with the neighbouring state.

The families of Remy and Vineetha, the nurses who died in the fire accident in Kolkata were given solatium of Rs 5 lakhs each. Sandhaya, a nurse who was also involved in the rescue act was given financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh.

Ministers K C Joseph, Govt. Chief Whip P c George, MP Jose K Mani, MLAs, other elected representatives and officials were present at the occasion.

Financial assistance of Rs 25,000 each for Joseph and Reji

For Joseph who met with an accident 8 years ago was finding it difficult to support his family. CM sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 25,000 for him. Rs 25,000 was also given to Reji who became paralyzed waist down.
