Vilappilsala: Everyone should co-operate to resolve the issue amicably

23122011b_newsThiruvananthapuram 24-12-2011: CM requested that all the political parties and people should co-operate with Government to find a permanent solution to the Vilappilsala issue thereby resolving the issue amicably. Government will take steps to construct a centralized waste treatment plant outside Vilappilsala using modern technology, said CM. He was speaking at the all party meeting convened here to discuss the issue.

CM requested the Panchayath members to extend the deadline to shut the garbage dumping plant to find a permanent solution. If the Corporation hands over the land at Vilappilsala to the Government, several projects can be implemented that benefits the people, said CM.

Order has been issued to set up centralized waste treatment plants in all wards. Corporation is taking strict action against the use of plastics. Final decision has not been made as where to build the new plant. Government has zeroed in on three waste management models out of the 12 short listed.

Ministers P K Kunhalikutty, V S Sivakumar, Deputy speaker N Shakthan, MLAs K Muraleedharan, V Sivankutty and other elected representatives participated in the meeting.
