Mass Contact Programme: CM hints at administrative reforms

Kannur 05-01-2012: The administrative procedures will be put to review after the conclusion of Mass Contact Programmes in all districts and necessary administrative reforms will be brought in, said CM. He was speaking while inaugurating the Mass Contact Programme here at the Police Parade ground.  The officials face hindrance of following all procedures while taking up the petitions of the people. The complaints of the people will be resolved favourably, said CM

CM said that there will be follow up procedures to the Mass Contact Programmes and the decisions taken will be put to review.

CM said that the proposal for the new dam has got national recognition and it is the victory of Kerala’s united stand that the High Power Committee appointed by the Supreme Court has sought the opinion of the state in this matter. Tamil Nadu will get the same amount of water as they get now even after the construction of the new dam, CM reiterated. A joint control mechanism involving Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the Centre with regard to the proposed new dam at Mullaperiyar is what has been proposed like the one at Siruvani dam.

CM said that Mass Contact Programmes are for the people and is devoid of politics. All the elected representatives and officials should give in their best effort to make this a success.

“Angels- 102” Ambulance Network inaugurated

CM today inaugurated the Ambulance service Angels-102 with the sole aim of saving the life of people. People can dial 102 from any network to get help in emergency situations. The service is free. The ambulances are equipped with the latest instruments to address any kind of medical emergency.

District Collector Anand Singh, District Police Superintendent Anoop Kuruvila John, District Medical Officer Dr Sulfikar Ali, Dr Sreekumar Vasudevan, Dr Manoj Narayanan, Adv K V Manoj Kumar are also part of the Angels team.

CM also released the special edition of Information and Public Relations “Janasamaksham” here today. The first copy was handed over to minister K P Mohanan. The book details the Mass Contact Programmes held till now.
