Heavy turnout for Mass Contact Programme
Kannur 05-01-2012: Serpentine queues were visible at the police Parade Ground here today as thousands of people poured in to get their grievances redressed. Around 8000 petitions were received today alone till 11.30 am apart from the earlier 24,213 applications.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements here for the smooth conduct of the function.
32 counters had been opened for handling the complaints and 20 counters had been set up to issue tokens. 8010 persons turned up for collecting tokens. CM first visited the disabled and heard their grievances.
Minsters K P Mohanan, K C Jospeh, MPs K Sudhakaran, M K Raghavan, A P Abdullakutty also were present.
