Jaipur 09-01-2012: The Government aims to make Kerala an entrepreneur friendly state, said CM. He was speaking a t the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas here today.
‘Emerging Kerala 2012’ will be conducted from September 12- 14 with the aim of attracting more investments in different sectors like IT, Health, Tourism, Education, Retails, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology to the state. The small scale industries will also be protected along with this. CM invited the NRKs to 'Emerging Kerala' which will be a stepping stone in the development of the state. CM also informed that this investment meet will be held once in 2 years.
The Keralites abroad had send Rs 49,956 crores to the state last year. This is 22 % higher than the state’s internal revenue. The Government gives special stress for the welfare of the workers from Kerala who are employed abroad as they skilled and are from the lower strata of the society, said CM. Government has given shape to different schemes like pension and welfare schemes for the Keralites working abroad.
The Centre was asked to increase the number of Malayalee officials in the Indian embassies especially in the Gulf regions and also to open legal centres to help the Keralites abroad. CM also congratulated the Central Government and Overseas Affairs Department for granting voting rights to NRIs.
Ministers Vayalar Ravi, K C Jospeh, Rajastan CM Ashok Ghelot, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and Jharkhand CM ArjunMunda were also present.
