Stress given for development of the state: CM

Thiruvananthapuram 25-01-2012: The meeting held here with the National Innovation Council Chairman Sam Pitroda, CM, Council of Ministers and Members of Planning Board gave stress for the projects that were aimed at the overall development of the state.

National Innovation Council will submit a report to the Government within 90 days regarding easing the vehicular traffic in the state by developing the coastal water ways.

Sam Pitroda put forward several suggestions like implementing a medical insurance scheme for mobile users by collecting a small amount from them along with their mobile bills, utilizing the service of people above 55 years of age, an effective waste disposal system, implementing e- governance for transparent governance, construction of a knowledge city and renovation of vocational education in the state.

The suggestions also include making Kerala the world’s capital of Ayurveda and developing railways by bring in fast track methods. Sam Pitroda said that public- private partnership is needed for the development of Kerala.

CM said that Kerala is undergoing change and it is visible in all fields. Labour problems have become a part of history and now the state is having an industrial friendly atmosphere, said CM. Though Kerala lost its many chances to bring in developments, now things have changed, said CM. The meeting with Sam Pitroda was held as part of the VISION 2030 envisaged by the State Government.
