Thiruvananthapuram 31-01-2012: CM has instructed to complete the work of the second floor of the Nadapanthal at Sannidhanam as part of the Sabarimala Master Plan. He was chairing the review meeting held here today.
L&T has informed that the work of the second floor of the Nadapanthal would be completed within 4 months at a cost of Rs 27 crores. Meetings will be held at Hyderabad and Chennai to find sponsors. The appam and aravana plants would be renovated at a cost of Rs 12 crores. A fully automatic compact machine for preparing aravana would be installed before the next season, said Dewasom Board President M Rajagopalan Nair.
Nadapanthal would be erected in the Pampa- Marakootam stretch before the commencement of the next pilgrim season. Two more sector queue complex would also be built. The work of the queue complex progressing would be completed before Vishu. CM has instructed to complete the work of the check dam as the study report on environmental impact as a result of increasing the storage capacity of the same has been received.
DGP Jacob Punnoose said that the advance queue reservation will be doubled by next season and added that the parking space at Nikkal would be developed and fee will be collected on a time bound basis.
It has been decided to construct a bridge at Pengattukadavu. Facilities would be provided for opening an operating centre at Nilakkal for KSRTC. Cleaning drive would be enhanced next year and temporary barricades would be erected at Vandiperiyar and Pullumedu.
CM said that there was coordination from all departments and the officials executed their duty in a commendable manner. Rs 26.5 crores have been allotted for the Sabarimala Master Plan till now. Rs 130 lakhs has been given as grants to Panchayaths, said CM and added that Rs 118.6 crores has been given for cleaning up activities.
