Monorail: Final draft on 28th February

Thiruvananthapuram 15-02-2012: The final draft of the monorail from Mangalapuram (Technocity) to Neyyatinkar will be submitted to the Government on 28th of this month.

The decision was taken in a meeting convened by CM with the representatives of NATPAC. Tomy Cyriac, the head of the NATPAC monorail project detailed the project report to CM.

The project will be completed in two phases. The first will be from Pallipuram to Thampanoor and the second from Thampanoor to Neyyatinkara. The total cost of the project will be Rs. 5130 crore. Low floor bus services will be stated to the stations of monorail from different points. At a time 600 persons can travel in the monorail. This will ease the traffic congestion in the city. If the Government approves the draft, the final report within 10 days, said NATPAC representatives.

Minister VS Sivakumar, Deputy Speaker N Sakthan, MLAS Palode Ravi, K Muraleedharan, MA Vahid and other officials participated.
