Government aims to ensure food security to all: CM
It is the onus of the Government to ensure that there is not even a single family in the state that doesn’t get food grains, said CM. He was inaugurating the valedictory function of the World Food Day Observance here.
The Government has distributed 6 lakh ration cards within 100 days after coming to power. The Gramasabhas should be able to identify the families eligible for this, CM added.
The government has set apart Rs 450 crores to give rice to the poor at Rs 2 per Kg, said CM and added that the Central Government has offered a subsidy of Rs 2300 crore for various items sold to the ration card holders in the state.
K Muraleedharan MLA presided over the function. Civil Supplies Commissioner K R Muraleedharan, Director M S Jaya and Municipal Councilor Leelama Issac were present.
