IDEAS – File tracking system in Secretariat inaugurated
Thiruvananthapuram 07-11-2012: CM today officially inaugurated the facility IDEAS (Information and Data Exchange Advanced System) an online advanced file information system which enables public to track their files at the Secretariat through Government website www.kerala.gov.in, sitting at home.
With the introduction of this system the public need not visit secretariat to know the status of their file. They would be able to track the movement of file just by the click of the mouse. This facility was announced in the one year programme of the Government. The system has been implemented in all departments and almost 95% works related to this have been completed. CM said that this is a huge advancement in e-governance and added that the state is trying to change totally into e governance system. IDEAS represents an advanced information support system that facilitates more efficient and transparent administration.
“Through this system the staff will be on tenterhooks and as per the government rules, in three days’ time each staff has to dispose of the file. If it is delayed, then the staff is answerable,” said the CM.
The citizens would be able to track their file from anywhere in the world through internet of SMS. This facility is implemented by the Department of Information and Technology. The system is designed in such a way that the petitioner gets email and SMS according to the movement of the file to different sections and officers.
Not only the public but the MPs and MLAs can register complaints using this system and forward them to the respective ministers. They would get e mails on the movement of a registered file.
