Gadgil report impractical: All party meeting
Thiruvananthapuram 08-01-2013: Regarding Kerala most of the recommendations of Gadgil Committee are impractical, opined the all party meeting convened by CM.
The Centre’s policy is to give certain exclusions to the States that best protect the forests, but in the case of Kerala which is the frontrunner in protecting the environment, the decision was not favorable., pointed out the CM.
The meeting has decided to put forward two recommendations in front of Kasthoorirangan committee appointed to study the Gadgil report. More time has to be allotted for registering opinion and that the Kasthoorirangan committee should visit Idukki and Wayanad districts to collect evidences from people.
Al party meeting will be held tomorrow also to discuss the same.
