SEZ
status for SMART CITY
The Central Board of Approval for Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has accorded SEZ
status to an area of 136 acres of the 236 acre earmarked for the Smart City project.
As the remaining 100 acre area is separated by a water body it will be considered
separately for SEZ status on the basis of fresh application. This vital decision
which will enable the project to enjoy tax concession and other benefits and
will give a big boost to Smart City. TECOM, the holding company of Smart City
can speed up activities and invite global IT players for setting up their business
in the Smart City
